Imagine arriving at your wedding via a sloop: At this resort, it’s just the beginning
At the elegant Spruce Point Inn, make your wedding ceremony entrance from a wooden sloop, private trolley or antique auto. Say your “I do’s” seaside on the Oceanfront Deck. Dance the night away under the stars in a tented courtyard or in the Pemaquid, with soaring pine ceilings and cast-iron chandeliers. Make a weekend of it with a lobster bake rehearsal dinner and a day-after brunch, watching the boats sail into Boothbay Harbor. With its one-wedding-a-day policy and full-time professional event-planning staff, the inn will see to your every need, from spa services to gourmet receptions and custom cake to providing the perfect lodging and activities (tennis? sailing? golf?) for you, your family and friends.

Special ceremonies at sea make wedding experiences to remember
Lots of people get married near the water. But you can get married on the water by chartering one of the eight majestic schooners that make up the Maine Windjammer Association. Imagine the two of you exchanging vows on the deck of a windjammer under sail, a lighthouse in the distance, or at anchor by a beautiful beach or quaint harbor town. Most captains of the vessels, which can carry up to 40 overnight passengers and even larger groups for 1-day charters, are licensed to perform ceremonies, either at sea or dockside. And why settle for ordinary reception food when you can feast on Downeast dinners prepared by onboard chefs (they will even make you a nautical-themed cake). You will be having more than a wedding – you will be having an adventure.
