South Coast welcomes families, kids and dogs for fun at the beach and water parks

The South Coast of Maine feels like it was made for family vacations. Kids and adults will both feel a thrill as they pass through the gateway to Maine and into the land of lobsters and lighthouses and parks. Kids need to spend at day at parks like Funtown Splashtown USA and Monkey Trucks. For a day of quieter fun, there are miles of trails through coastal woods and wetlands in the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge. The beaches, of course, and wide, sandy, and gorgeous. Old Orchard Beach is known for special events like sand sculpting and car shows and fireworks the kind of neon-laced night frolics that kids and teenagers love. Plenty to choose from when you are looking for family friendly lodgings. And, many lodgings welcome your dog, too.
