Weddings aboard windjammers are nautical – and nice!
The Maine Windjammer Association is full of options when it comes to your wedding. You can have your ceremony on the water, on the dock – even on a secluded island beach. But one thing stays the same: It’s all about enjoying your big day with the water as your grand centerpiece. And talk about a nautical theme: Many vessel captains are licensed to perform ceremonies, and many of the on-board chefs can whip up a gourmet lobster-themed dinner complete with champagne and cake. Charter a 40-person schooner for family and friends and cruise through Penobscot Bay, or have your waterfront wedding dockside, say your farewells and set sail on a romantic honeymoon cruise. Some vessels even have honeymoon suites!

Great views for those wedding photos
What better spot for a waterfront wedding than Maine's rock-bound coast? Sebasco Harbor Resort's got that, plus the facilities you'll need for your ceremony and reception. In addition to the rocky shore, there are many other spots here that can provide a beautiful backdrop for your ceremony and photos -- lush woodlands, heirloom gardens. And you can hold your reception outside or indoors. The pool lawn offers views of Casco Bay islands and spectacular sunsets. The Clipper, a unique rustic buildings, serves as a rain venue should bad weather interrupt the proceedings. It's also ideal for rehersal dinners. The Cornelius Room, with large windows overlooking the lake, has space for 240. Whatever your choice, when you have your wedding here, you can return through the years to relive the romance.
