Boutique hotel’s gallery a showcase for the appealing work of local artist
It’s not surprising that creativity flourishes in mid-coast Maine: It’s a lovely area, dotted with vibrant seaside villages and breathtaking water vistas. At the Lord Camden Inn, Camden’s premier downtown boutique hotel, that atmosphere inspires the work of Marianne W. Smith, whose paintings can be found in the hotel’s lobby and second-floor dining and conference rooms. Fifty of the local artist’s newest works, which demonstrate her interest in still lifes and landscapes, can be found in the Marianne W. Smith Gallery. Artistic touches, of course, can be found throughout the charming inn, where each room is a stunning architectural arrangement of light and space, many incorporating Old World brick walls with modern marble surfaces, wainscoting and crown molding.
