This small state park is located between Old Orchard Beach and Camp Ellis. Ocean beach for swimming, clam digging, surf fishing. Visitors can take a nature walk on a shaded trail, learn about sustainable ecosystems, or enjoy a picnic. A stand of tupelo (black gum) trees can be seen in this 100-acre area, which offers a sweeping view of miles of white sand beaches between the Saco River and Pine Point. Dogs are not allowed on the beach from April 1 September 30. Day use fees are adult, $6; senior, $2; children 5-11 years old, $1. Park is open Memorial day to October 1.

This oceanside public park at the location of a World War II fort has marked walking trails, picnic areas and cooking areas, recreation areas, pavilion area available for groups,long pier, rocky beach. Park is handicapped accessible. Scuba diving and small unpowered watercraft allowed in designated area. Fires in grills and fire pits only. Dogs allowed on leash; owners must pick up dog waste. Entrance fee is $10 per car during season or $5 for walk-in or bike rider. Open Memorial Day to Labor Day, daily, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This two-mile expanse of sandy beach in Biddeford extends along the open ocean from Biddeford Pool to Fortunes Rocks, offering beach-goers lots of room to stretch out, relax, swim and play in the summer sun. Wave sports such as surfing, bodyboarding, skimboarding and surf kayaking are popular here, and the hard-packed sand is great for walking and jogging. Limited parking is available at both the south end and north end of the beach, accessed from Fortunes Rocks Road. Parking is by permit only, available from Biddeford City Hall, City Clerk’s office, 205 Main Street. Lifeguards are on duty from late May to early September. There are no facilities at Fortunes Rocks Beach.

This beach is nearly three miles of wide, smooth sandy beach. A barrier reef offshore, visible at low tide, helps protect the beach. Parking is along Kings Highway, where there are numerous paths through the rocks, dunes and grass down to the beach. Homes and summer cottages line the drive above the beach. Dogs are allowed, but only before 8 a.m. and after 6 p.m. No facilities are available. Parking permits for Goose Rocks Beach are available at the Kennebunk/Kennebunkport Chamber of Commerce, Kennebunkport Town Office, and Kennebunkport Police Department and Goose Rocks General Store.

There’s almost a mile of oceanfront at Kennebunk Beach, which includes three distinct beaches. Tucked into the rocks south of Lords Point is Mother’s Beach, a sandy pocket beach about 750 feet long. There’s a playground and restrooms; a lifeguard is on duty. Parking is limited and by permit only. Parking permits for all Kennebunk Beach areas are available at the Kennebunk Chamber of Commerce, Town Hall and Police Department.
Just to the north is Middle Beach, nearly a quarter-mile of black pebbly beach. A sidewalk extends along the seawall at the road’s edge, which is lined with summer cottages and hotels. Parking is by permit only. Farther along is the main and most popular beach area called Gooch’s Beach. Here is a crescent of fine sand more than 3,300 feet long, perfect for soaking up the sun, swimming in the waves, building sand castles and strolling barefoot in the sand. Lifeguards are on duty in high summer and there are portable toilets nearby. Parking is by permit only.

This long peninsula of sandy beach and grassy dunes stretches for three and a half scenic miles, forming a natural barrier between the Atlantic Ocean from the Ogunquit River. It is a natural spot for summertime fun, swimming and bodysurfing in the waves, sunbathing, or walking the wide sands in search of shells and driftwood, all amid the big open ocean views. At the south end of the beach there is a large parking lot (fee charged), public restrooms, outside showers, and picnic tables. There is also a hotel, gift shops, snack bar and several restaurants.
The midsection of Ogunquit Beach is known as Footbridge Beach, and is accessed by a footbridge across the Ogunquit River. Lifeguards are on duty in-season. There is ample parking (fee charged), a boat ramp for launching small boats, and restrooms. The far end of Ogunquit Beach is called North Beach, where there is a large parking area (fee) and restrooms. A short path leads to the expansive beachfront.

Old Orchard Beach is Maine’s most popular beach resort because of its 7-mile long continuous stretch of wide, sandy beach. The streets of the town have a carnival atmosphere, with arcades, amusement rides, restaurants and food stands, hotels and motels, gift shops, clubs and The Pier, a famous oceanfront icon since 1898 that extends nearly 500 feet out offshore. The beach is perfect for spreading out blankets, chairs and umbrellas and relaxing in the sun, swimming and bodysurfing on the ocean surf, building sand castles, and taking leisurely walks and exploring for shells.
On the strip there’s food, souvenir shops, rides, festivals, fairs, free concerts, street dances and -- on most Thursday night -- fireworks. Parking is available throughout Old Orchard Beach at several municipal lots and many privately operated lots. There are public restrooms just off the strip on West Grand Avenue.

Two Lights State Park is a popular point of destination for Maine residents and the many visitors who enjoy the state's legendary rocky coast. The park encompasses 41-acres of rocky headlands. Standing high above the rocky coast and rolling surf, visitors have sweeping views of Casco Bay and the open Atlantic. Picnic tables on the hills facing the ocean afford visitors spectacular views of the ocean.
Strollers and hikers can enjoy the refreshing sea breezes along shoreline trails and watch ships sailing into and out of Portland Harbor. Remember, ocean breezes can cool off a summer afternoon, so bring warm clothing to ensure an enjoyable visit. When walking along the rocks by the ocean, stand at least 20 feet back from the surf and keep a close eye on children. Admissio: $1.50-$4.50. Open year-round.
